Waiting on a Missing Child in Warzone

"Should we stay or should we go?" asks mother of missing child and yet the inevitable answer is "stay...stay! STAY!"

High 'stay', low 'stay', whisper 'stay', moaning 'stay', crying 'stay', angry 'stay', scarred 'stay' and even sleeping 'stay!'

'Stay' despite the constant songs of the indiscriminate missiles, despite the drum beats of the tanks, and despite the musical score of the bullets, now decorating countless walls haunting the survivor of the nearmiss and promising the audience of more unwanted 'encores'.

Stay despite the ripple effect on those too loyal to leave and nothing to loss but what was taken or destroyed; the home, the school, the friends, the soul, the mind, the spirit and the dreams.

Stay for he is alive, how can he not?
Stay for he will come knocking, why can't he not?

Stay for he will be cold  and stay for the embrace to warm his shivers.

Stay despite it all, how dare she not?
Stay for the love of God, her son is he not?

Stay and wait, stay and pray, stay and hope despite the apocalyptic background, despite the narrowing vision and despite the huge collateral damage being ensued and torturing a mother with conflicting interests but no reason to give up!

...We thus stay and wait with her for she is 'our' mother, he is 'our' brother, and this is OUR Benghazi whether we are in it or separated by a thousand mile...it is all 'relative' in all meanings of the word.
